The relatively cheap releases clause means that other teams could pay it to sign the player without having to negotiate with the club.

As noted by Forbes, Bayern Munich have expressed interest in paying Dembele's release clause and have told Barcelona as such.

Barcelona don’t want to lose one of their star players for nothing and have already begun negotiations with the player over a new deal. Renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that the club have opened talks with the player who Xavi views as untouchable.

Xavi had high praise for the attacker as he spoke about his recent absence due to injury, Goal noted.

“We have missed him. He is the best one-on-one player, there are few in the world like him. Ask the full backs in La Liga who they prefer. He’s a player with tremendous speed, he’s a difference-maker. It’s logical that we’ve missed him,” he said.

Dembele has had a career hampered by injury but has still been a significant threat for the Catalan giants.

As noted by Transfermarkt, Dembele played 180 games for the Spanish side since joining them and has scored 40 goals while notching up 41 assists.

Dembele returns after 3 months

Barcelona has been handed a significant boost in pursuing their first La Liga title in three years following the return to fitness of crucial winger Ousmane Dembele.

Dembele had been one of the club’s standout players this season before he suffered a hamstring injury that kept him sidelined for three months.

The 25-year-old forward’s absence proved costly for Barcelona as the Catalans were knocked out of the Europa League and Copa del Rey while Dembele was injured, Sports Brief reported.
