Paris Saint-Germain appear keen to strengthen their attack as they look to put the mixed fortunes of the 2022/23 campaign behind them.
Despite completing moves for the La Liga duo of Lee Kang-in and Marco Asensio, the French giants also appear to have their sights set on another forward - likely intended to full the void left by the departure of Lionel Messi.
This move could become even more significant with the looming exit of star forward, Kylian Mbappe.
According to reports from football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, PSG have reportedly verbally agreed to a five-year deal with Barcelona’s marquee forward, Ousmane Dembele.
The French club have also sent a formal letter to inform the Catalans as they seek to make the deal official.
According to a report by from Marca, the French forward has a €50 million release clause in his current contract - a figure which would rise to over €100mil as of August 1.
Dembele informs teammates about transfer
Meanwhile, a report by Spanish publication, COPE, indicates, Dembele has already called a number of his teammates, informing them of his 'pending move' to PSG.
The dressing room is said to be saddened by the news, with head coach, Xavi, recently backing the forward as an important member of his plan for the long-term.
It is also believed the Catalans will approach UEFA to ensure PSG complies with financial fair play regulations as the deal gains more traction.
Barcelona keen to keep Dembele
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Barcelona are desperate to keep Dembele at the Spanish side for a few more seasons.
