  • Romelu Lukaku's future remains uncertain as he explores a move away from Chelsea
  • The move to Inter Milan collapsed after Lukaku ghosted calls from the Italian club after agreeing with Chelsea
  • Juventus are reportedly the frontrunner for his signature, with a Saudi Arabia club also interested

Romelu Lukaku has provided an update on his future regarding a move to Juventus, and it casts further doubts over a chaotic transfer saga.

Lukaku is actively exploring a move away from Chelsea after spending the previous season on loan at Inter Milan and turned down an approach to join the Italian giants permanently.

The Blues are also interested in putting an end to a chaotic relationship which began when the club re-signed the Belgian from Inter for €115m under former owner Roman Abramovich.

Juventus' contact with the striker angered Inter to pull out of the deal while the Old Lady were in turn by Chelsea making their offer for the 30-year-old public.

Lukaku's update on Juventus move

The Italian giants were reportedly in the driver's seat though Lukaku's recent words suggest otherwise.

The former Manchester United striker, who remains in his home country of Belgium while his future is being sorted, was accosted by Juve fans for a brief interaction.

The video shared on Tiktok by Mauro Chiffi and recirculated on X by MatthijsPog showed the player being told not to say "Forza Juve" if he joins the club, and his response appears to call off the move.

"No, never. I don't think the deal will go through," Lukaku responded.

Tutto Mercato reported that the Bianconeri have asked for more time from Chelsea in order to sort the move, with new sporting director Cristiano Guintoli ready to fly to London.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Saudi Arabia club Al-Hilal continues to monitor the forward's situation, having had an offer of £45m per year salary rejected by the player, and are ready to offer a similar amount in transfer fees.

Martinez disappointed in Lukaku

Sports Brief reported that Lautaro Martinez expressed disappointment in Lukaku after his former teammates refused to pick up calls from everyone in what the Argentine described as "dark days."

Martinez and Lukaku formed a deadly strike pair to help Inter win the 2020/21 Italian Serie A under former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, the club's first in 10 years.
