The 22-year-old shared his excitement after returning to action for the first time in four months.

"Thank God always! Enjoyed being back out there now time to push on," wrote the defender on social media.

His comeback is huge boost for Brighton ahead of what will be a busy season following their qualification to Europe.

Although, Lamptey has been linked with a move to Sporting Lisbon in Portugal, the defender seems to be in the plans of Roberto De Zerbi.

The former England international is also expected to be available for the Black Stars in the AFCON qualifier against the Central African Republic in September.

Lamptey snubs England for Ghana

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey has asked to be left out of England's squad for their upcoming European Under-21 Championship qualifying games.

The 21-year-old is considering representing Ghana ahead of the 2022 World Cup and 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, according to Daily Mail.

The right full-back was contacted by the West African country in 2020 but made his England Under-21 debut later that year.
