Whilst PSG are trying to ship out their most-priced asset, reports of a potential replacement for the French captain have emerged.
PSG eyes Barcelona star
Despite completing the signing of the Spanish La Liga duo – Kang-in Lee and Marco Asensio, the Parisiens have their sight set on another La Liga star.
This time it’s Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele.
According to reports from Marca, the French forward has a €50 million release clause in his current contract – a figure the French giant would not hesitate to activate, given their current dilemma.
The French club want to finalise a deal quickly as Dembele's release clause is set to double from next week. As reported by SPORT.
PSG’s new coach Luis Enrique is believed to be eager to sign Dembele the forward.
The France international signed for Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017 for a fee in the region of €130 million.
Dembele has featured 185 times for Barcelona and has found the back of the net 40 times while providing 43 assists.
Barcelona who are in a critical situation may be tempted by the offer as a €50 million addition would do good to the Catalan club's finance.
Barcelona keen to keep Dembele
Earlier, Sports Brief reported Barcelona are desperate to keep Ousmane Dembele at the Spanish side for a few more seasons.
The French attacker’s contract expires at the end of the 2024 season, but he currently has a €50 million release clause.
