- Reus recently tried his hands at a hilarious Formula 1 drivers’ test
Marco Reus made headlines when the German attacker announced in early July, in an unusual fashion, that he is stepping down as captain after five years wearing the armband.
Reus’ action came as a double blow to Borussia Dortmund, who had only recently parted ways with star midfielder, Jude Bellingham, who departed for Real Madrid for £88.5 million.
However, the attacker looks to be unfazed by his decision and has acclimatised to what life without being called captain means.
Currently, on a preseason tour with the rest of the squad, Reus has shown fans his experience with a hilarious Formula 1 challenge.
Reus shows F1 skills
In a video posted on Tiktok by Borussia Dortmund, the 34-year-old attacker took part in the popular Formula 1 griddy challenge.
The superstar attacker aced the challenge, much to the amusement of many, as the challenge involved a high level of reflex.
Dortmund will hope their pre-season training translates into success this season.
It should be recalled that the Bundesliga giants missed out on the league last summer on the last day after they failed to secure victory against strugglers Mainz 04 at the Signa Iduna Park.
Dortmund look set to achieve more next season as they have strengthened their squad. As reported by Goal, the club has announced the signing of three players, including Bayern Munich’s Marcel Sabitzer and Wolfsburg's Felix Nmecha.
Reus extends Dortmund’s contract
In another report, Sports Brief stated that Marco Reus has extended his contract at the Westfalen Stadion.

Reus, 33, has scored 161 goals for Dortmund, 16 shy of the all-time record set by Adi Preissler between 1946 and 1959.
The attacker will have his sights set on this record given his recent one-year contract extension.
