The 36-year-old set a new personal scoring record with his brace against Atlanta United.

Among the three professional clubs he played for, Messi racked up three goals the quickest with Inter Miami.

Inter Miami (58 minutes)

The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner accomplished that feat in just 58 minutes of action for the MLS side.

Messi played his first match for Inter Miami in the Leagues Cup contest against Cruz Azul on Friday. He entered that game as a substitute in the 54th minute.

He delivered late-game heroics in that match, scoring a dramatic free kick in second-half stoppage time to hand Inter Miami a 2-1 win.

Messi picked up right where he left off in the match against Atlanta United, scoring two quick goals in the first half, per Yahoo Sports.

He opened the scoring in the eighth minute, tapping in a rebound with his right foot. He used his weaker foot again to double his tally in the 22nd minute, connecting with Robert Taylor’s cross to make it 2-0 for Inter Miami.

PSG (444 minutes)

Messi needed 444 minutes to score three goals for Paris Saint-Germain.

He scored his first goal for the French side in the Champions League match against Manchester City on September 28, 2021.

Messi then notched his second and third goals for the club in their Champions League encounter against RB Leipzig on October 19, 2021.

Messi scored the match-winner, netting a Panenka penalty in the 74th minute to hand PSG a 3-2 victory, per The Guardian.

Barcelona (741 minutes)

The greatest years of Messi’s career came at Barcelona, where he amassed a total of 672 goals in 778 games played.

It took some time, though, for Messi to reach the three-goal mark at Barca, needing 741 minutes to accomplish that feat.

Messi’s first goal for the club came on May 1, 2005, in a La Liga match against Albacete. Brazilian star Ronaldinho delivered the assist for that historic goal.

He scored his second goal for Barcelona in their Champions League game against Panathinaikos on November 2, 2005. Messi scored in the 34th minute of that match to help the Catalan giants record a 5-0 win.

He notched his third goal for Barcelona in their 4-1 win over Racing Santander in La Liga on November 27, 2005.

Messi scored with his left foot in the 51st minute, with Samuel Eto’o the one credited with the assist.
