Thiago Almada is living the dream.

The Atlanta United midfielder gained a precious item on Tuesday night as he swapped jerseys with Inter Miami star, Lionel Messi.

They made the exchange following the Herons’ 4-0 win in the Leagues Cup.

The Argentine stars talked briefly in the middle of the pitch as they made the swap. Sergio Busquets can also be seen in the video hugging Almada and Messi.

The Inter Miami jersey Almada got from Messi is a valuable commodity as he wore this in his first-ever start for his new MLS team.

World Cup heroes reunite

Almada and Messi made history together in Qatar last year as they were part of the Argentina side that won the World Cup.

Argentina captured their third World Cup title following a dramatic penalty shootout win over France in the final.

Messi and Almada remain part of the Argentina set-up, with the two of them stealing the show in the win against Panama last March.

They each scored a goal in the 2-0 victory, with the match played in front of a packed crowd in Buenos Aires, per ESPN.

Messi and Almada reunited on Tuesday, but they faced each other as opponents this time.

Messi scores double

Messi showed Almada who’s the boss, scoring two goals in the first half and recording an assist in the second half to lead Inter Miami to a comprehensive victory.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner didn’t waste time adding to his goal tally, scoring twice in the opening 22 minutes.

He tapped in the rebound with his right foot in the eighth minute to give Inter Miami a 1-0 lead.

The 36-year-old doubled the Herons’ lead in the 22nd minute after he diverted Robert Taylor’s cross into the back of the net with his right foot again.

Inter Miami had the luxury of substituting Messi in the 78th minute, with the win already secure at that stage.

Almada hugged Messi before the latter made his way to the bench.

Messi comforts DJ Khaled's son

Sports Brief also reported on Messi comforting DJ Khaled's son before Tuesday’s match against Atlanta United.

The child cried as he stood in front of the former Barcelona star.

The Inter Miami forward made sure the young boy was OK, checking in on him as the music mogul watched from the sidelines.
