- NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo jokingly asked the club to sign him instead, with Mbappe yet to respond
- The Saudi club responded to the Greek-Nigerian basketballer but not in the way he would have wanted.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has seen his humorous request to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal to sign him instead of Kylian Mbappe accepted, but he would be disappointed with the offer.
Mbappe is embattled at Paris Saint-Germain, with the club ready to force him out unless he signs a new contract to avoid losing him for free next summer.
Al-Hilal have reportedly submitted a world-record bid of €300m to the French club to sign the forward, whom they are willing to offer a mouthwatering salary of €700m.
Top of the perks of the contract is that it would be a one-year contract, which will allow the 24-year-old to leave for his dream club Real Madrid next summer.
Al-Hilal respond to Antetokounmpo
NBA star Antetokounmpo threw himself into the mix of the transfer saga by making a request to the Saudi club to sign him as he shares a resemblance with the French international.
The club responded to Giannis but offered him a role in their fan club which would disappoint the Milwaukee Bucks star.
"You’re welcome to join us as a fan, Giannis 😎," the club wrote on Twitter.
It was not the first time the Nigerian would shoot his shot at Saudi Arabia clubs, having paraded himself as a striker amidst the ongoing cash splash from the Middle East country.
A decision is expected from the former Monaco forward, as PSG have accepted the bid and given permission to the club to speak to the player.

FootballMbappe reacts to Giannis
Sports Brief reported that Mbappe reacted to Giannis' tweet of him being the France star's doppelganger and asking to be signed if the 2018 World Cup winner is not ready to go to the Gulf state.
The tweet amused the five-time Ligue 1 golden boot winner, and he dropped laughing emojis, which suggests he is unbothered by the Parisian's antics and stylishly confirmed the news in the media.
