Jamal Musiala has been honoured as Bayern Munich's Player of the Season for the 2022-23 campaign, narrowly beating Matthijs de Ligt and Thomas Muller to claim the prestigious award.

The 19-year-old prodigy secured an impressive 46 percent of the votes, with de Ligt following in second place with 28.3 percent, while veteran forward, Muller obtained a modest 8.2 percent.

Notably, Musiala's decisive last-minute goal in Cologne, which secured Bayern the Bundesliga title on the final day of the season, was also recognized as the Goal of the Season, according to the club's website.

Throughout the season, the German international displayed his talent, contributing an impressive 32 goals in 47 appearances across all competitions for FC Hollywood, as reported by Transfermarkt.

Musiala shortlisted for Golden Boy

Sports Brief also reported that Bayern Munich have three of its youngsters nominated for the 2022 edition of the prestigious Golden Boy Award, which is given to the best footballer under the age of 21 years.

The list, which comprises 60 nominees, is selected by journalists from a variety of publications across Europe and was published in the Italian news outlet Tuttosport.

The 20-year-old will contest with Jude Bellingham and Karim Adeyemi of arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund, who have also been shortlisted for the award.

Musiala scores dramatic late winner

In a previous publication, Sports Brief reported that Jamal Musiala has opened up on the build-up to his last-gasp match-winning goal, which secured Bayern Munich's 11th successive Bundesliga title on Saturday, May 27.

Musiala climbed off the bench to help the Bavarians stamp their authority on the German championship in dramatic fashion.

Fortunately for the Bavarians, their title rivals Dortmund stumbled to a 2-2 draw with Mainz, allowing Thomas Tuchel's charges to squeeze past them in the tightest league race in recent years.
