Inter Miami has become a prime destination for football stars.

2012-13 season

Messi, Busquets, and Alba first played together for Barcelona during the 2012/13 season. The Catalan giants won just one trophy that year, but it was a big one, landing the La Liga title.

They captured the championship in impressive fashion, scoring 100 points to finish 15 ahead of second-placed Real Madrid.

2013-14 season

Gerardo Martino took over as head coach just weeks before the start of the season following Tito Vilanova’s shock resignation.

The partnership lasted just one season as Martino failed to deliver the big trophies to Barca.

The Spanish giants won just one silverware that year, and that was the Supercopa.

2014-15 season

Luis Enrique replaced Martino to be the club’s next head coach, and that decision immediately paid dividends for Barcelona.

They clinched their second continental treble in 2015, winning the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, and the Copa del Rey, per Bleacher Report.

2015-16 season

Barcelona clinched a domestic double during this campaign, winning the Copa del Rey and La Liga.

They narrowly defeated Real Madrid by one point to win the Spanish league title. They then captured the Copa del Rey with a 2-0 victory over Sevilla.

They also won the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup that season. Barcelona secured their place in those competitions after winning the Champions League in 2015.

2016-17 season

Barcelona kicked off their season with an emphatic 5-0 aggregate win over Sevilla to capture the Supercopa de Espana.

The Catalan giants managed to add only the Copa del Rey that season, as they failed to nab the top prize in both La Liga and the Champions League.

They lost to champions Real Madrid by three points in La Liga. They then suffered a 3-0 aggregate loss to Juventus in the Champions League quarter-finals.

2017-18 season

Barcelona regained the La Liga title in 2018, winning the championship by 14 points over second-placed Atletico Madrid.

They also captured the Copa del Rey for another domestic double.

2018-19 season

The Spanish giants successfully defended their La Liga title in 2019, winning the championship by 11 points over second-ranked Atletico Madrid.

Unfortunately for Barcelona, that was the only major trophy they won that year. They lost to Valencia in the Copa del Rey final and suffered a gut-wrenching loss to Liverpool in the Champions League semis, per ESPN.

2020-21 season

Barcelona’s woes continued in the 2020-21 campaign after they failed to win any silverware in the 2019-20 season.

They finished third in La Liga and were knocked out in the round of 16 of the Champions League.

The Catalan giants salvaged their season by winning the Copa del Rey.

Ronaldo passes Messi

Sports Brief recently reported on Ronaldo passing Messi as the best-paid athlete in the world.

He surpassed his Argentine arch-rival for the first time since 2017.

The Portuguese star’s blockbuster move to Saudi Arabia helped him become No. 1 again.
