FootballInter Miami Confident of Signing Luis Suarez After Messi, Busquets Unveiling
- Luis Suarez is reportedly close to joining Inter Miami in the MLS from Gremio
- Should this, he will reunite with friend and former strike partner Lionel Messi
- Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba are ex-Barcelona players also at Inter Miami
Just in case one thought Inter Miami were done with their high-profile transfers this summer, think again!
As far as quality transfer go, one cannot go any higher than signing Lionel Messi and the Major League Soccer club did just that. The veteran was officially presented as a new Inter Miami player on July 16 and he has since started training sessions with his new teammates.
Besides him was Sergio Busquets, another loyal Barcelona servant who left the club upon the expiration of his contract. Inter Miami were able to get these two players on a free transfer in a coup.
To make matters even better, transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano, has confirmed Jordi Alba is also on his way to Florida. Once the journalist says 'here we go', expect the player to be draped a new club jersey sooner rather than later.
Or, 'we will see who lied'.
In what is expected to be heaven brought down to Inter Miami fans, reports now indicate the club is increasingly confident of landing Messi's long-time strike partner, Luis Suarez, this summer.
Barcelona stars reuniting in MLS
Imagine Alba running up and down the wings, receiving Messi's lobbed passes, Busquets stringing passes in midfield like the general he is, and Suarez leaving defenders for dead and goalkeepers asking for mercy as Messi does what a seven-time Ballon d'Or winner does.
Heaven has a new definition - and it's right there in Florida if this comes to pass.
GOAL reports that Suarez is keen on making the switch from Brazilian club, Gremio, with a deal understood to be 'close'. The Uruguayan played with Messi in Catalunya between 2014 and 2020, where they formed part of that devastating MSN trident along with Neymar Junior.

Possible Inter Miami XI
Sports Brief also reported that Major League Soccer outfit, Inter Miami could parade a new-look team in the coming weeks, with top players set to join the club this summer.
The arrival of the well-known players like Messi and Busquets could see the Floridian club have a much-changed squad for the second half of the American league season.
All these new players would no doubt walk straight into Inter Miami's starting XI, with Messi expected to continue with his magical performances despite his advancing age.
