Super Falcons defender, Glory Ogbonna, has confirmed the readiness of her and her national teammates ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Randy Waldrum and his wards have been training in Australia for the past few weeks, where they have also featured in some friendly games ahead of the prestigious competition.
Nigeria has never won the Women's World Cup tournament but fans have urged the Super Falcons to make the country proud this time around.
According to the reports by Punch and Naija News, Ogbonna claimed the team was prepared for their opening group stage game against Canada.
Ogbonna: Nigeria ready for Canada
"Talking about our first game against Canada, we are ready, very very ready, of course. We’ve been preparing, training hard for this first game," she stated. "We are already in Australia for the World Cup."
Ogbonna also mentioned her joy at representing her west African country at the 2023 Women's World Cup.
"I feel great; I’m very excited about playing football at the highest level, the senior World Cup. Having represented Nigeria at youth level twice at the Under-20 Women’s World Cup, it’s been my wish to be at the senior World Cup and I’m so grateful my wish has been granted. I’m very grateful to God for making this happen."
Ebi says Nigeria is ready
