According to Marca, the salary the Argentine magician will earn per season surpasses any amount currently made by any MLS player by a substantial margin.

To put it precisely, there is a significant disparity between the 36-year-old's earnings and the salaries of all his teammates at Inter Miami.

Sports Brief takes a closer look at how much of a difference there is between Messi's wages and the rest.

Inter Miami wages' roster

As reported by Sportrac, the player who makes the least amount of money out of the Inter Miami first team is midfielder Dixon Arroyo. He reportedly earns around $150,000 per season.

Defender Christopher McVey follows, making an estimated $219,996 per season. Franco Negri earns $225,000.

Midfielder Victor Ulloa takes home a reported $250,000 per season, while forward Robert Taylor is being paid an amount of $276,000.

The subsequent leap in salaries is observed with midfielder Nicolas Stefanelli, who earns a substantial $400,000 per season.

Goalie Nick Marsman and forward Leonardo Campana take home $474,996 and $550,000 per season respectively. Also, defender Sergii Kryvtsov is making a reported $555,500 per season.

The salaries of players Jean Motta, Gregore da Silva, Corentin Jean, and DeAndre Yedlin range from $700,000 to $800,000 per season.

Highest-paid Inter Miami stars

According to Marca, Inter Miami recently reached an agreement to part ways with midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro, who was making about $3.3 million annually.

New arrivals Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets are set to earn $1.6 million and $10 million per season, respectively.

Striker Josef Martinez makes an estimated $4 million per season.

And Messi's salary skyrockets to an astounding $54 million, a figure that appears highly unsustainable, yet that's the sum he commands.

Messi lands in the United States

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Lionel Messi is on the verge of becoming an Inter Miami player officially after he jetted into the US to seal the move.

Messi was initially linked with an emotional reunion with Barcelona after his stint with PSG, but the transfer did not materialise.

The World Cup-winning star instead chose to move to the Major League Soccer, with the imminent move confirmed more than a month ago.
