How Nwankwo Kanu destroyed Chelsea

The Blues looked to have wrapped up the fiercely contested London derby with 30 minutes to go thanks to headers from Tore Andre Flo and Dan Petrescu who gave the hosts the lead.

According to Complete Sports and All Nigerian Soccer, goalkeeper Ed De Goey had not conceded a Premier League goal at Stamford Bridge at that time before Kanu Nwankwo embarrassed him.

With 15 minutes to the end of the match, Chelsea fans were expecting their players to score more against Arsenal.

However, Kanu intercepted a Marc Overmars shot to pull one back for Arsenal.

In the 83rd minute, Kanu scored his second goal with a brilliant assist again from Overmars.

After netting his brace, Chelsea faithful were shocked and they did not believe what their eyes saw. To make things worse for them, Kanu netted his third goal in the 90th minute for Arsenal to win 3-2.
