What are the latest La Liga transfer rumours? Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid
FootballReal Madrid Adamant on Fede Valverde Sale, Amidst Liverpool Interest
- Real Madrid have made their stance clear on the future of Fede Valverde
- Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City have enquired about the midfielder
- Federico Valverde has a contract until 2027 with Real Madrid
Both Real Madrid and Federico Valverde are not looking to part ways this summer, amidst strong interest transfer interest from the Premier League for the versatile Uruguay midfielder.
The 24-year-old has been the subject of a rumoured €90 million bid from Anfield, which is believed to be Liverpool’s second offer for him, but so far Los Blancos haven’t been for turning.
According to reports from 90min, Real Madrid have given unsympathetic dismissals to enquiries from Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester City, along with Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
It’s also understood that Valverde’s preference is to remain in Madrid for professional and personal reasons.
Reports according to Madrid Zone on Twitter also state that the Uruguayan sees himself as a future captain at the Bernabeu, while he has just become a father for the second time and he and his family prefer to stay in the Spanish capital.
A Liverpool Move for Valverde?
A Liverpool move for the 24-year-old always seemed a long shot due to the fee he would likely command, and the player himself has now more or less shot down any thoughts of a prospective move to Anfield.
Having already spent just under £100 million this summer on two other midfielders in Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, a move for the Uruguayan seems most unlikely.
Any further signings would probably be in the more modest £50 million bracket, and with the midfield strengthened considerably, Jurgen Klopp may want to set aside plenty of the remaining budget for prospective additions in defence.

FootballValverde’s standing at Real Madrid is perhaps best illustrated by the presence of a staggering €1bn (£854.5m) release clause in his current contract, which makes it crystal clear that any departure would either need to be pushed through by him or sanctioned by the club.
With neither of those scenarios likely to materialise any time soon, Liverpool can forget about trying to land the Uruguayan and instead concentrate their efforts on transfer targets who would better fit their projected spending level.
Valverde to face lengthy ban
Sports Brief reported Real Madrid star Federico Valverde could miss up to twelve matches after allegedly punching Villarreal midfielder Alex Baena following their La Liga clash earlier this month.
The Uruguayan reportedly came to blows with the Spaniard following Madrid's 3-2 loss at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday, April 8.
According to reports, Valverde punched Baena at the car park for allegedly making remarks about his then-unborn child during the teams' January Copa del Rey matchup with Villarreal.
