Former Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri has urged Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen to remain at Napoli for the coming League season stressing that staying at the Serie A champions is the best for him.
Osimhen was in brilliant form last season for Napoli netting 26 goals and helping the club to win the Scudetto after 33 years which was a historical achievement for the Nigerian.
The former Lille attacker also finished as the highest goalscorer last season and became the first African in history to win the Golden Boot award.
Clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United in the Premier League are interested in the services of Osimhen this summer and they are expected to make their move.
According to the report on Soccernet and Tutto, Sarri who is now the coach of Lazio explained that Osimhen should stay at Napoli where he is loved by fans.
Sarri tells Osimhen to stay at Napoli
“I don’t know what he (Osimhen) will do, but what he found in Naples, he won’t find again in his career.
“Naples is a unique and exhilarating experience; it makes you feel both the responsibilities and the affection, love, and total involvement. Osimhen will make his choices, but he will struggle to find what he experienced in Naples.”
