Martinez’s goal helped Inter Miami salvage a 2-2 draw against Columbus Crew.
They are languishing at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings, accumulating just 17 points in their first 20 games.
Martinez rescued Inter Miami in the dying minutes of the contest, scoring an acrobatic overhead kick to secure the all-important point.
The Venezuelan sent the fans inside DRV PNK Stadium into a frenzy after connecting perfectly with the pass from teammate Leo Campana, who scored the other goal for Inter Miami earlier in the second half.
Introducing Martinez in the 74th minute proved to be a stroke of genius by interim manager Javi Morales, who is set to be replaced soon by new manager Tata Martino.
