Nycole Raysla, a member of the Brazilian female national football team, was filled with emotions after meeting her father at work for the first time.

To his surprise, his daughter made sure she had a moment with him before leaving with her teammates.

In a video that has since gained traction on social media, Raysla, who plays for Portuguese outfit Benfica, requested to speak with her dad, who broke down in tears as he bode her farewell.

"I was very happy. It was a big rush, I go to work at 4am and yesterday she called me, saying that the flight would probably leave at 5:30am. Now it is to hope that they make a good championship and bring the mug," said her emotional father, as quoted by globo.com.

The 23-year-old is embarking on her first World Cup with Brazil and will be hoping to help them achieve the ultimate in New Zealand and Australia.

Brazil have been drawn in Group F alongside Panama, France, and Jamaica, as reported by FIFA.

Marta to play last tournament

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Brazilian legend Marta hopes to cap her final tournament at a Women’s World Cup with a win at this year's Mundial.

Marta is named in the squad for Brazil despite still nursing a knee injury after she underwent surgery to repair anterior cruciate ligament damage last year, which puts her starting status in doubt.

According to Sports Brief, she heads into the tournament as one of the most influential figures in women's football, having been named the FIFA Women’s Player of the Year six times.

Motsepe rescues Banyana Banyana

Banyana Banyana are ready to head off to the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup after resolving their stand-off with the South African Football Association.

The two parties made headlines over the weekend when the women’s national team refused to play their game against Botswana.

As reported by iDiski Times, the national team boycotted the game over concerns about the stadiums and a pay dispute with SAFA.
