Mason Mount already had some Manchester United blood in him before completing a switch to Old Trafford after Chelsea accepted a £60m offer.
Mount will be out of contract next summer, and an agreement could not be found between him and his boyhood club, with length of contract and salary being the difference between the two.
United started their bidding process for Mount with an offer of £40m, which the Blues swiftly rejected and held out for £75m. After three bids were rejected, the two reached a compromise at £60m, including add-ons.
The Telegraph reports that he signed a five years contract and is set to earn a base salary of £250,000 per week, which could rise to £300k with bonuses.
Mount imitates Ronaldo’s freekick
Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best free-kick takers of all time and has scored some iconic ones. He has a distinct technique of pacing behind and standing elegantly over the ball before hitting.
Ronaldo is arguably football’s biggest influencer with his lifestyle, fashion and goal celebration, a global phenomenon copied by colleagues and football lovers worldwide.
Mount is not left out of being a Ronaldo fanboy and spoke about how he modelled his freekick technique after the Portuguese, from his days at Cobham Academy.
According to Evening Standard, he scored a similar one in the 2-0 win over Wolves on the final day of the 2019/20, which secured Champions League football for the next season, which they won.

Sports Brief reported that Man Utd could pay less for Mount than the initially quoted £60m, including add-ons, due to the difficulty of the bonuses.
The Red Devils would have to win the Premier League title or UEFA Champions League multiple times before it is fulfilled, both of which they have not won in over 10 years.
