FootballHarry Kane: Tottenham Striker Appears to Drop Future Hint With a New Home Close to Stamford Bridge
- Harry Kane could yet remain at Tottenham and see out the final year of his contract
- Bayern Munich are interested and have seen an offer of €70m rejected by Daniel Levy
- Kane has thrown further confusion on his future with construction work in London
Harry Kane has thrown further mystery into what his future holds with a new family home project a few miles away from Chelsea’s home stadium.
Kane has had many unsuccessful attempts to leave Tottenham, with Daniel Levy unwilling to allow the English striker to leave, even for fees above £100m.
He is now entering the final year of his contract and has yet to agree on a new one. This appears like the best time to cash in on him, but it looks unlikely he will leave again.
The Athletic reports that Spurs turned down a £65m offer from Bayern Munich, and the German champions are willing to go again with an improved offer of £80m.
Kane hints at future club?
Recent indications suggest he could be set to stay in London and see out the final year of his contract under new boss Ange Postecoglou.
The Telegraph reports that he has started the construction of a new family mansion close to Wentworth golf club in Surrey, situated 15 miles from Cobham.
The 29-year-old is a golf fan which explains the siting of the project, and it is also believed that he could be hinting at a reunion with former boss Mauricio Pochettino, who is now at Chelsea.
The Blues inquired about England's all-time top scorer two weeks ago but deemed him too expensive and understood Levy may not want to deal directly with a rival.
Kane’s potential destinations
Sports Brief analysed Kane’s four potential destinations this summer, including staying at Tottenham and what each has to offer him.
He faces a race against time as he is nearing 30 and yet to win a trophy in an otherwise beautiful career in which he is both club and country’s all-time top scorer.
Bayern Munich and Manchester United have expressed interest, while Real Madrid are said to have discussed him internally after the departure of Karim Benzema.
