Etiosa Ighodaro is a man in high demand at the moment.
The Mamelodi Sundowns striker has attracted interest from a few clubs lately, including sides in Europe.
Not only has the Nigerian been linked with a move to France, Kick Off reports that he also received interest from Serbian side Partizan Belgrade.
It's not the first time that the Serbian outfit has made an offer for the attacker and had a bid turned down by Sundowns before Ighodaro was sent on loan to Chippa United. It’s reported that the previous offer was for R8.5 million.
Ighodaro impresses on loan
The Nigerian was signed by Sundowns in 20211 from Abuja College, but has yet to make a single appearance for the DStv Premiership champions. He was loaned out at first to the University of Pretoria, before being loaned out to Chippa the following season.
It was at Chippa that Ighodaro shone. As noted by Transfermarkt, he scored 10 goals in 24 appearances, becoming one of six players to reach double figures last season.
The standout performance saw him earn high praise from Kurt Lentjies, who described him as the best striker in the Premier Soccer League.
Chippa United are so impressed with the striker that they want to keep him for another season, but they aren’t the only local side interested in his services. It’s now up to Masandawana to decide what they want to do with the Nigerian star next season.
