  • PSG have agreed a deal in principle with Bayern Munich for defender Lucas Hernandez
  • The 27-year-old wants to move to the Parc des Princes and a transfer is moving closer
  • Hernandez managed one goal and one assist in 11 appearances across competitions for Bayern last season

Paris Saint-Germain are not getting distracted by the crisis rocking the team at the moment following the exit of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe’s purported transfer saga.

The Ligue 1 champions are fully focused on rebuilding their team following an unsuccessful 2022/23 campaign which saw them crash out of the UEFA Champions League early.

According to Sportskeeda, PSG has reached an agreement with Bayern Munich to sign French left-back Lucas Hernandez, with the deal set to be wrapped up in a few days.

The 27-year-old French international is regarded as one of Europe's best left-backs, boasting superb defensive abilities and PSG are willing to match his €50 million valuation.

Bayern are open to finalizing the deal to sell Hernandez who missed most the 2022-23 campaign due to a torn muscle that he picked up at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar for France.

Hakimi open to PSG exit

Meanwhile, PSG Talks reports that Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi is open to returning to Real Madrid if the Spanish giants should make a move for him in this summer transfer window.

Alejandro Camano, the agent for the Morocco international revealed Hakimi still holds dear Real Madrid as he claims Los Blancos will always be home to the 27-year-old defender.

Hakimi’s connection with Real Madrid goes back to his early days as a professional footballer. He joined the Spanish giants’ youth academy and progressed through the ranks but had to leave the La Liga side to begin advancing his football career.

PSG dealt another transfer blow

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Paris Saint-Germain’s plans ahead of the new season have been dealt another blow after Zinédine Zidane turned down their approach to replace Christophe Galtier at the Parc des Princes.

Whilst Galtier’s departure hasn’t yet been officially confirmed by PSG, it has been widely reported that the former OGC Nice manager, who only arrived at the club in the summer, has already been informed by Sporting Advisor Luís Campos that he is no longer Les Parisiens’ manager.

Zidane was PSG’s first choice in May, just as he was last year before Galtier’s arrival.
