According to Metro UK, personal terms between Havertz and the Gunners have already been agreed upon, and the German international is likely to complete a medical imminently ahead of the proposed move.

It is understood that Havertz's ability to play in many attacking positions appealed to Mikel Arteta, who is desperate to strengthen his squad in preparation for next season.

Should Havertz complete the move, the ex-Bayer Leverkusen ace will join a long list of players who famously swapped Chelsea for Arsenal.

Sports Brief takes a look at 7 Chelsea stars who left Stamford Bridge to join their north London rivals:

1. Jorginho

Jorginho is the latest player to have left Chelsea for Argenal.

The Italian midfielder moved to the Emirates Stadium during the January transfer window.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal signed Jorginho from Chelsea in a Deadline Day deal worth £12million.

The 31-year-old went on to pen an 18-month contract with Arteta's side.

2. Petr Cech

Back in 2015, Cech made a high-profile move from Chelsea to Arsenal, with the switch ending his 11-year successful spell with the Blues.

However, the legendary keeper later returned to Stamford Bridge to join the club's coaching staff.

3. Yossi Benayoun

The former Israeli midfielder joined Arsenal on loan from Chelsea for the 2011-2012 season.

He returned to Chelsea after his loan spell at the Emirates.

4. David Luiz

The Brazilian defender is the other high-profile player to have played for both Arsenal and Chelsea.

Luiz joined the Gunners from Stamford Bridge during the summer of 2019 for a reported £8 million transfer.

5. Willian

The Brazilian was part of Chelsea's Premier League title-winning squad of 2014/15 and 2016/17.

However, this did not stop him from sealing a stunning summer switch to Arsenal in the summer of 2020.

While he had a dream debut for the Gunners, there was nothing to write home about during his stint with the club, as he could only manage one goal and three assists.

6. Lassana Diarra

The French midfielder could only manage 13 Premier League appearances for the Blues before he decided to join rivals Arsenal in 2007.

However, he was unable to make the grade at the Emirates as well and was subsequently shipped out to Portsmouth after just five months.

7. William Gallas

The French defender was sold to Arsenal in 2006 after winning two Premier League titles with Chelsea.

His move to the Emirates was part of the deal that saw Ashley Cole move the other way.

Gallas went on to spend four seasons with the Gunners before he signed for Tottenham Hotspur, another London club.

Mount waves goodbye to fans

Sports Brief also reported that Mount appeared to wave goodbye to Chelsea fans after their season's final game against Newcastle United, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

During the routine lap of honour at the end of the season, the academy star looked emotional as he applauded the fans in what was a very emotional moment.
