  • Neymar has been linked with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain
  • The forward could join Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos on the list of departures for PSG
  • The French champions are set to appoint Spaniard Luis Enrique as their new coach

Neymar Jr. possibly exiting, PSG has been a major topic of discussion over the last few weeks, with reports linking the Brazilian to a move to the Premier League or even Saudi Arabia.

With Luis Enrique possibly coming to take over the managerial role at Paris Saint-Germain, the Spanish manager would reunite with Neymar, whom he won the UEFA Champions League with during the 2014-2015 season.

Goal reported that Enrique would like his say on the recruitment this summer. Additionally, it’s not sure that he will validate a departure from Neymar, who is under contract until 2025.

If there’s a manager that can get the best out of Neymar at this stage in his career, it’s likely the 53-year-old. Furthermore, Enrique reportedly sees himself in Paris building a long-term project and not coming for a short stay.

As a result, the former FC Barcelona boss sees areas on the team he wants to upgrade, specifically the midfield. The Spaniard has always favoured great control in midfield, and the current team does not yet satisfy his provisions.

Enrique speaks on Neymar’s potential

Earlier Marca reported Enrique had tipped Neymar to become one of football’s most dominant players.

Neymar played under the Spaniard at Barcelona and helped deliver silverware, but question marks still hang over his head.

"He has the potential to be a dominant player," Luis Enrique said of the Brazilian.
"Time will tell, and I'm not certain that he will be, but he's a winner on the pitch."

If eventually appointed as PSG’s head coach, Enrique would surely be of help to Neymar, helping roll back the glory days at Barcelona where he was pivotal alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez to the club’s UEFA Champions League triumph.

Enrique declares himself a leader

Earlier Sports Brief reported Luis Enrique declared himself as the team's leader in the absence of any obvious star player, ahead of Spain’s first World Cup game against Costa Rica in Qatar.

Enrique’s leadership quality could come in handy for PSG given the team lacks a clear leader, coupled with the departure of the senior figures in the dressing room.
