Cristiano Ronaldo melted the hearts of football fans with his heartwarming gesture during Portugal's Euro 2024 Qualifiers against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Ronaldo, who is on the precipice of international history, was making his 199th cap for Portugal, as Roberto Martinez sought to continue his perfect start to life as Selecao boss.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward's superstardom has not waned despite swapping Europe for the Middle East, signing for Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr in January.
His star factor came to light for the umpteenth time at Benfica's Estadio da Luz when a die-hard fan evaded the stewards and security protocol to share a priceless moment with his idol - Ronaldo.
The pitch invader, who was wielding a Portugal flag, hugged the 38-year-old before bowing on his knees to pay homage, then lifted Ronaldo and performed his trademark 'Siuuu' celebration amid cheers and applause.
