The build-up to the 2023/24 Premier League season begins today as the fixtures were released. There will be no shortage of drama when the season starts on August 11.

Champions, Manchester City begin the season emotionally as they welcome Burnley, headed by former captain, Vincent Kompany.

Runners-up, Arsenal could have a shot at revenge when they welcome Nottingham Forest, who ended their title hopes last season, to the Emirates Stadium.

Chelsea will kick off their campaign against Liverpool as the first of the season's traditional Big 6 fixtures. Sports Brief looks at when the Big 6 teams will clash in the new season.

2023/24 Big 6 fixtures

The first big fixture will be held at Stamford Bridge on the season's opening day. According to The Athletic, the first London derby will take place between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium in September.

The Gunners and Spurs face difficult opening weeks with fixtures against Manchester United and Liverpool in the season's early weeks.

According to Mirror UK, the first Manchester derby of the season comes up in October, and that is when champions Manchester City will face a real challenger as they aim to defend their title and win a fourth consecutive one.

The Red Devils and Arsenal will play the final big six game of the season on the penultimate day at Old Trafford.

Pochettino faces difficult opener

Sports Brief reported that Chelsea's new boss, Mauricio Pochettino faces a difficult opening day, with a welcoming of Liverpool to Stamford Bridge.

He will officially take over on July 1 and his first tough task will be the Reds, who were disappointing but also surged to qualify for the Europa League.
