Dutch-born Ghanaian defender, Jeremie Frimpong has been nominated for the Fair Play Award in the German Bundesliga.

The in-demand right-back ended another good campaign with one of the best moments of the season after he consoled a young fan who got hit by a kick from the defender.

During a game between Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen, Frimpong kicked the ball into the crowd while chasing it down the corner flag, and it accidentally hit the fan.

In a video shared on social media, a remorseful Frimpong quickly ran to the boy to comfort him, before gifting him his jersey at the expense of getting a booking.

The incredible gesture has been selected for the top award, with the Leverkusen star expected to win the accolade.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old is currently on the radar of Manchester United, who are interested in signing him in the summer transfer window, according to Football Talk.

Frimpong's international future remains unclear after he was snubbed twice by Dutch manager, Ronald Koeman for the last two Holland matches.

He remains eligible to play for the Black Stars of Ghana.

Frimpong linked with Bayern Munich

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Frimpong could leave Bayer Leverkusen to join German giants Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

The former Celtic right-back has attracted interest from the German champions following his wonderful performances for his club in the Bundesliga this season.

Per a report on German outlet Sport1, Bayern Munich have shown interest in the 21-year-old, with Spanish powerhouse Barcelona also said to be interested.

Frimpong gets Holland invite

Sports Brief also reported on how Frimpong earned his debut call-up to the senior Netherlands national team.

The Bayer Leverkusen right-back put up wonderful performances for his club in the Bundesliga this season and was rewarded by a call-up to Louis Van Gaal's side.
