  • Chelsea will not pursue a deal to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain this summer
  • PSG are willing to listen to offers for the 24-year-old forward who has a year left on his contract
  • Mbappe's current deal with PSG runs until the end of the 2023/24 season

Chelsea has ruled themselves out of the race to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer after the forward informed Paris Saint-Germain of his intention to leave the Ligue 1 club.

PSG are willing to listen to offers for the 24-year-old forward as they intend not to lose him for free after the 2023/24 season when his current deal with the club expires.

According to Goal, the Blues had shown interest in Mbappe before he signed a new contract at PSG in May last year, going on to win Ligue 1 again with the Parisians this season.

Real Madrid remains the favourites to land the 2022 World Cup Golden Boot winner this summer, should he decide to leave PSG, while Manchester United are also interested in the forward.

Mbappe, who joined PSG in 2017 initially on loan from Monaco, has scored 212 goals in 260 games for the Ligue 1 giants.

Mbappe apologizes to Madrid president

Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe has appeared to mend fences with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez as speculations rise about his sudden desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain, Football Espana reports.

Perez fell out with the 24-year-old forward after he rejected a chance to join Real Madrid last summer despite having a mutual agreement with the Spanish club.

Mbappe called the Real Madrid President in order to apologise for how things played out last summer and is now keen on joining the 14-time Champions League winners.

Mbappe’s potential transfer destinations

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Nasser Al-Khelaifi is understandably infuriated with the constant flirting between Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappe and will thus look to sell their star to any club except Real Madrid.

Teams like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool are attentive to the 24-year-old’s situation and would not hesitate to splash the cash this summer.

PSG will prioritise the offers from England, complicating the situation for the Frenchman.
