FootballKylian Mbappe’s Childhood Photo in Chelsea Jersey Emerges Ahead of Potential PSG Exit
- A section of Chelsea fans has asked Kylian Mbappe to join their club this summer
- He has reportedly told Paris Saint-Germain he won't be extending his current deal
- PSG will be keen on cashing in on Mbappe rather than losing him for free next year
A lovely childhood photo of Kylian Mbappe in a Chelsea jersey has resurfaced on social media, a few hours after news broke that he could leave Paris Saint-Germain as early as this summer.
Mbappe is said to have handed in an official letter to PSG chiefs, explaining to them his decision not to trigger an extension clause in his contract.
If reports are true, this would essentially mean his contract with the French giants will come to an end next season.
PSG are now faced with the prospect of losing the most interesting talent in world football for free next year. The other option would be to sell him this summer.
Transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano has indicated the Parisians would be keen to move him on this summer should he refuse to extend his contract.
Which club will Mbappe join?
Rumours have now started to swirl on where the 24-year-old could be headed next. He has previously been linked with a move to Real Madrid, only for him to make an about-turn and agree to a new deal with PSG.
Manchester United's prospective owners are also reportedly keen on signing the 2018 World Cup winner, should they take over the club.
A section of Chelsea fans have also beseeched the French star to return 'home' should he choose to leave this summer. Mbappe is among the long list of players Chelsea rejected.
As Marca reports, the Blues turned him away in 2012 after one session because of his defensive qualities.
His mother, Fayza Lamari refused to return her child for a second session, with Mbappe going on to rise through the ranks with Monaco as he took the world by storm at the World Cup in Russia.

FootballChelsea fans appeal to Mbappe
@CFCDubois said;
"Born in Chelsea, raised in Chelsea & a product of the Chelsea academy. It’s time to come home, Mbappe."
@Mr Ebony said:
"I never knew Mbappe has any past affiliation with Chelsea, though. Come home bruh"
Realistically, Chelsea are among the few clubs that can afford his wages, but their lack of European football next season will make it hard for them to sell the idea to Mbappe.
Mbappe's letter to PSG
Sports Brief also reported that Mbappe could leave PSG next season after it was claimed he would not be extending his current contract until 2025.
The 2018 World Cup winner is believed to have sent a formal letter to the Parisians' hierarchy on Monday afternoon, informing them of his decision.
In this letter, Mbappe reportedly informed PSG he would not be activating the option in his contract for a further year 'under any circumstances'.
