The Black Stars re-assembled on June 12 in Accra to start preparations, ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Madagascar.

All 25 players arrived at the training camp looking stunning in their designer wear, as they reunited once again after duties at the club level this season.

The Black Stars will begin training on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium before their important trip to Antananarivo on Friday.

In photos shared on social media, the players were seen stepping out of their vehicles as they arrived at the Alyssa Hotel in Ghana.

Late invitees, Kasim Nuhu Adams and Hafiz Konkoni also joined the team on Monday alongside Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer, as reported by ghanafa.org.

The Hamburger SV forward will join Kamaldeen Sulemana and Ernest Nuamah in Morocco after the game against Madagascar, for the U23 AFCON tournaments.

The four-time African champions need at least one point to seal their qualification to the main AFCON tournament, to be hosted in Ivory Coast next year.

The Black Stars have not won an AFCON title since 1982 and will hope to end that drought in due course.

Davies discusses his Ghana snub

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Ghanaian-born Canadian, Alphonso Davies confirming the GFA approached him about playing for the Black Stars but he declined as the offer had come too late.

According to the Bayern Munich defender, the football association only contacted him via Instagram after he was about to join the German giants and had already secured his Canadian citizenship.

Medeama SC crowned Ghana champions

Sports Brief also reported that Medeama SC were crowned Ghanaian champions after a successful 2022/23 season.

The Tarkwa-based club ended at the top of the league with 60 points to win their first-ever Ghana Premier League title.

The Mauve and Yellow needed one point in the last game of their season and did so by thumping Tamale City at home.
