"Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play. He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy - everything that is important to our club," Daniel Levy said about the incoming Spurs boss.

Postecoglu is set to succeed Antonio Conte, who was sacked at Tottenham back in March following his explosive rant aimed at club chief Daniel Levy.

According to the BBC, the Australian is now Tottenham's fourth manager since Mauricio Pochettino led them to the Champions League final in 2018-19.

Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte have all been at the helm of affairs, with Ryan Mason and Stellini taking charge on an interim basis.

But who is Ange Postecoglu?

Sports Brief takes explores some interesting facts about Tottenham's new manager:

1. He was once a footballer

Before transitioning into football management, Postecoglu was a footballer himself.

The tactician played as a defender and plied his trade with South Melbourne and Western Suburbs.

His most successful spell as a player came when he won the Australian national championship under the great Ferenc Puskas.

However, his football career was cut short as he was forced to retire aged just 27 through injury.

2. He has won four league titles

One of the outstanding aspects of Postecoglu is that he is a proven winner.

The 57-year-old has won four league titles since he started his managerial career in 1996.

Two of the four titles have come with Celtic, who he helped win back-to-back Scottish top-flight trophies.

He won his first Scottish premiership title during the 2021/22 season and successfully defended it this term.

3. Celtic's successful stint

According to BBC, Postecoglu is one of only five managers to secure a domestic clean sweep with Celtic.

Jock Stein, Martin O'Neill, Brendan Rodgers and Neil Lennon are the other managers who have replicated the feat.

The tactician completed the clean sweep this season, winning the Scottish premiership, Scottish Cup, and the League Cup.

4. First Australian to manage in the EPL

Postecoglu's move to Tottenham will see him become the first Australian to manage in the Premier League, per Sky Sports.

It is understood that he became the preferred candidate at Tottenham after considerations for Brighton's Roberto De Zerbi and Fulham head coach Marco Silva.

5. Reputation for rebuilding clubs

Many had hoped Tottenham would appoint a high-profile manager to succeed Conte.

However, the London club settled for Postecoglu, a little-known tactician with an impressive CV and a reputation for rebuilding clubs in a crisis.

Japan's Yokohama F Marinos are among the clubs he helped steer back to the top after struggles in the formative years.

Madrid boss interested in Kane

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has pleaded with the club's executives to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham in the summer.

Kane has one year left on his contract with Spurs, and a bidding war for his services in the upcoming transfer window appears to be imminent.

Reports suggest that Los Blancos are one of the teams keeping an eye on the star striker after Ancelotti expressed an interest during heated discussions with the club's management.
