Mason Mount appears unbothered by the controvery surrounding his stalled contract extension and possible departure this summer.
Mount came through the famous Chelsea academy at Cobham and made his first-team debut under Frank Lampard in a losing attempt against Manchester United.
He remained an integral part of the Blues team since then, laying in the pass for Kai Havertz to score against Manchester City to win the club their second UEFA Champions League trophy in 2021.
His current contract runs out in 2024, and talks have broken down over an extension.
The Telegraph reports that he has agreed on personal terms with Man United and is certainly set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
Mount vacations with Chilwell
Despite the social media drama from Chelsea fans, Mount appears unbothered and has gone on his end-of-season vacation.
According to Sun Sport, he is holidaying alongside club and country teammate, Ben Chilwell, who shared the pair’s photos with friends on Instagram.
The 24-year-old is on an £80,000 per week salary and reportedly wants parity with fellow academy star, Reece James, who signed a £250,000 per week contract last September.
His rumoured departure has caused division in the fanbase, with some claiming he is not good enough and does not deserve the contract he is demanding. The same set of fans is concerned he is joining a direct rival.
Chelsea’s asking price of £85 million is said to be holding the deal back as United are not willing to go beyond £55 million. The Red Devils are also reportedly considering adding Harry Maguire to the deal.
