Brighton and Hove Albion defender, Tariq Lamptey is having an event-filled and gratifying vacation in Ghana.
Lamptey, presently in the West African nation, donated generously to Freedom Methodist School and Wesley Methodist School in Asamankese as part of his annual activity.
The donation included footballs, boots, and Brighton’s home and away kits.
Sports Brief can exclusively report that a ceremonial match between two local Division Three League teams, Young Kotoko Football Club and Nana Kodie Football Club, took place before the donation.
Prince Atsu scored the game's lone goal in the first half to give Young Kotoko the victory and go on to win the match's Best Player award.
At the end of the game, 15-year-old Atsu received a pair of football boots from Tariq as a reward.
Tariq Lamptey has, through his foundation, given back to underprivileged children in the nation of his parents.
The right-back has already made four appearances for the Black Stars of Ghana.
He has been out since picking up an injury in a Premier League game against West Ham in March, missing the AFCON qualifiers against Angola, per Ghanaweb.
Lamptey is also out of June's Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar.
Tariq Lamptey's charity works
This latest gesture adds to the long list of charity works and donations made by the Chelsea Academy product.
Last year, the 22-year-old performed a philanthropic gesture via his foundation while also engaging in kickabouts with locals.
He also organised an Under-15 juvenile tournament in Cape Coast on 30 December 2021, according to GhanaSoccernet.

Why Tariq Lamptey chose Ghana
Former England youth international, Tariq Lamptey has revealed the moment he finally decided he had to switch nationalities, Sports Brief previously reported.
Lamptey was born in England to Ghanaian parents and represented the European country at youth levels.
However, in June 2022, the 22-year-old decided to play for the country of his parents. He was eventually named in Ghana's squad for the World Cup in Qatar, having made his debut against Brazil in September 2022.
