  • Inter Milan's Andre Onana remains confident ahead of the UEFA Champions League final
  • The Cameroonian goalkeeper is expected to feature when they face Man City next month
  • Onana has been in incredible form for Inter Milan during the Champions League this term

Inter Milan goalkeeper, Andre Onana said the team will 'die on the pitch' when they face Manchester City in the final of the UEFA Champions League on June 10.

Onana has been in scintillating form for the Nerazzurri, keeping eight clean sheets as the Italian giants reached the final for the first time in ten years.

Although Onana admits City have been the best team in Europe this season, he believes Inter Milan have what it takes to shock the newly-crowned Premier League champions.

"We are going to face perhaps the best team in the world [Man City]. They play very good football, but it's a final. We will go there to make history, for us and for Inter. I can't promise victory, but I can promise that we are going to die on the pitch… Finals are not played, they are won," he said, as quoted AllezLesLions.

Onana asked for permission to travel to Cameroon after the game against Atalanta in the Serie A on Saturday.

The former Ajax shot-stopper has already won the Coppa Italia with Inter this season, as reported by the BBC.

Onana celebrates Coppa Italia win

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Dutch defender, Denzel Dumfries and Onana sharing a moment of brotherly bonding after Inter Milan successfully defended their Italian Cup.

The Nerazurri defeated Fiorentina 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico to retain the Coppa Italia, with the Cameroonian goalkeeper forming an important part of the game.

This season's UEFA Champions League finalists battled from an early goal down to beat La Viola, thanks to a brace from Lautaro Martinez.

Onana sets UCL record

Sports Brief also reported on Cameroonian star, Onana setting a new record as Inter Milan goalkeeper in the UEFA Champions League.

The former Ajax shot-stopper became the first Inter keeper to have seven clean sheets in one season in Europe's elite competition.

Onana also made the most saves in the UCL, with the Nerazzurri on course to reaching the final again for the first time since 2010.
