The Zimbabwean international, who spent seasons at Orlando Pirates, runs the Marshall Munetsi Foundation, which provides access to education for children from underprivileged communities.

As noted by iDiskiTimes, Munetsi's charity work has been recognised by the French League, which presented him with the UNFP Citizenship award.

Munetsi's contract clause benefits other

The Stade de Reims player also extended his contract with the side recently, but a certain clause in his contract has caught the eye of many.

As noted by FIFA, his new contract has a clause which states that the club will donate €100 to his foundation for every kilometre he covers on the field.

The clause even caught the attention of FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who wrote a special letter of thanks to him.

Munetsi's time at Pirates

The Zimbabwean midfielder wasn't one of the big-name players at the club, and spent some of his time at the Buccaneers, away on loan at Baroka FC.

As noted by Transfermrkt, he played 37 games for Pirates without scoring and 32 games for Baroka, where he scored three times and notched up one assist.

Munetsi impresses at Reims

The attacking midfielder has enjoyed better fortune in France and, this season, has made his mark. Munetsi has scored seven goals and set up three more. His performances on and off the field are making people sit up and take notice, and for that, he is grateful.

Mbappe wins at UNFP awards

Munetsi wasn’t the only player excited about receiving an award on the night.

Sports Brief reported that Kylian Mbappe was named Ligue 1 Player of the Season for the fourth time in a row.

The 24-year-old has scored 28 goals in the league this term and is on course to finish as the Ligue 1's top scorer for the fifth season running.
