The Sun reports he was withdrawn after the hour-mark, with Carney Chukwuemeka coming on for him.

Loftus-Cheek went on to embrace Enzo Fernandez and Cesar Azpilicueta as he trudged off the pitch.

But before he left the field of play, he made sure to turn around as he waved to all four corners of Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea fans responded by standing up as they gave him a standing ovation while chanting his name.

Loftus-Cheek's next move

The England international has heavily been linked with a possible Stamford Bridge exit ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to Italian outlet CalcioMercato, AC Milan are leading the hunt for the services of the Chelsea midfielder.

The publication claims the Rossoneri will have to match Chelsea's £25million valuation to land his services.

Loftus-Cheek made his breakthrough at Chelsea during the 2014/15 season under former boss Jose Mourinho.

His best season with the club came during Maurizio Sarri's stint when he scored an impressive 10 goals across competitions.

Mount leaves pitch in tears

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Mason Mount appeared to validate reports of his imminent exit from Stamford Bridge as he was spotted getting emotional as he left the pitch.

Photos doing the rounds on social media show the England international being comforted by his fellow countryman Ben Chilwell.

Mount's current contract with Chelsea is set to expire at the end of next season.

Manchester United are believed to be leading the hunt for his services, while Arsenal and Liverpool have also been linked.
