Manchester United are reportedly looking to submit a £55million bid to sign Chelsea midfielder, Mason Mount at the end of the season.
Mount will have just a year left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge, with reports suggesting talks over a contract renewal have not been fruitful.
According to Metro UK, the England international has rejected Chelsea's last two offers of an extension, plunging his future with the Blues into doubt.
The publication adds that Mount's decision to turn down the offers has made Chelsea unwilling to table any improved offers.
Mount's contract situation has sparked interest from a number of Premier League clubs, who are said to be keeping close tabs on the midfielder.
United plot bid for Mount
While Arsenal, Man City, Newcastle, and Liverpool are all reportedly interested in Mount, it is Man United who have taken a significant step towards securing his services.
The Sun reports that the Red Devils are already preparing to launch a £55million bid for the Chelsea contract rebel.
Erik ten Hag is understood to be keen to strengthen his team ahead of next season and has prioritised the signing of an attacking midfielder.
It is believed that Mount is top on his transfer wishlist ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
