Barcelona are said to be shocked that French defender, Jules Kounde is nursing the ambition of leaving Camp Nou just days after being crowned La Liga champion with the Catalan outfit.
The Catalans shelled out a whopping £50 million last summer to sign the defender from Sevilla as Xavi continued rebuilding his Barcelona squad to be title contenders.
According to 90MIN, Kounde has grown increasingly frustrated with being played at right-back instead of his natural centre-back and will look to engineer an exit from Barcelona.
Barcelona are surprised with this development and are not impressed with the Frenchman, but the Catalan club’s dire financial crisis could force them to let go of him anyway.
Kounde has made 38 appearances for the La Liga champions this season, becoming one of the pivots for the club’s latest successes under the leadership of club legend, Xavi.
Barcelona demanding £70m for Kounde?
Barcelona will apparently accept nothing less than £70 mil if the Catalan club is to sell Kounde this summer after the defender revealed he wants to leave Camp Nou, Goal reports.
The Catalans aim to make at least £20 mil profit from selling the mercurial Frenchman, who only joined the club from Sevilla last summer.
Kounde has played on the right for Barcelona 18 times this season and as a centre-back nine times, prompting him to request a transfer because he prefers to play in the middle of the backline.
