With the game against the FIFA World Cup semi-finalists to come, Broos has now named his preliminary squad for the side.

As noted by iDiskiTimes, the 34-man squad comprises 10 Mamelodi Sundowns players.

Ronwen Williams, Thapelo Morena, Aubrey Modiba, Grant Kekana, Khuliso Mudau, Mothobi Mvala, Teboho Mokoena, Sphelele Mkhulise, Themba Zwane and Cassius Mailula have all made it into the preliminary team.

Notable absentees in Bafana’s team

While Sundowns have an abundance of players, the Amakhosi don’t. As noted by Times LIVE, no Kaizer Chiefs players are selected for the team.

Orlando Pirates are represented by Innocent Maela, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Miguel Timm and Monnapule Saleng.

Another notable absentee is Burnley striker Lyle Foster. Foster scored in the return fixture, where Morocco won 2-1. There are some new additions to the squad as Iqraam Rayners (Stellenbosch FC) Given Msimango (TS Galaxy) and Kobamelo Kodisang (Moreirense) will all get their chance to impress for the national squad.

Bafana's team manager red carded

Bafana Bafana’s team manager Vincent Tseka has become a household name in South Africa.

Tseka was seen and heard swearing at one of the match officials during South Africa’s clash against Libya, Sports Brief reported.

The clash was a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Group K qualifier at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Stadium in Monrovia.

Broos is a relieved man

Sports Brief also reported that taking over Bafana Bafana was an uphill task for the Belgian coach.

Broos said he must be judged against his vow to take South Africa to the 2023 AFCON in Cameroon.

It was a hairy campaign for the South Africans, but the straightforward Belgian kept his promise.
