It appeared that he was not happy with an offside call by one of the linesmen, though the visitors had blown the chance anyway.

At the time of publication, Zakhele Lepasa had put Bafana in the lead in the 19th minute before William Jebor equalised in the 35th minute.

According to Sport24, coach Hugo Broos, who was trying to intervene, said to the media after the match:

"I think emotions make people sometimes do things that they regret afterwards. "I could have control of my emotions, but, okay, this guy [Tseka] didn't, and we can't say that we approve of that. But then there are emotions, and tomorrow, maybe you will do something like that."

South African Twitter appeared to sympathise with Tseka.

"This is just [embarrassing]. Ok maybe it wasn't offside, but what kind of example are you setting for the players here? Showing no respect towards match officials and then still ignoring Broos who is telling you to calm down! Vincent Tseka shown a red card "

Bafana Bafana would eventually win the match 2-1, booking their place at the tournament that will be hosted in the Ivory Coast.

Hugo Broos is a relieved man

Sports Brief also reported that taking over Bafana Bafana was an uphill task for the Belgian coach.

Broos said he must be judged against his vow to take South Africa to the 2023 AFCON in Cameroon.

It was a hairy campaign for the South Africans but the straightforward Belgian kept to his promise.
