Ladan Bosso, manager of the Flying Eagles of Nigeria, has stated clearly that his wards can defeat the Italian Under-20 national team in their second tie at the ongoing FIFA World Cup.

Nigeria and Italy will meet on Wednesday night, May 24. Nigeria face Italy in a tie that is expected to be challenging, considering the pedigree of the two teams.

The Flying Eagles started their campaign on an impressive note, beating the Dominican Republic 2-1, while Italy defeated Brazil.

Italy currently top Group D and have been rated as the tournament's favourites.

According to the report on Pulse and Daily Post, Ladan Bosso explained that Italy will be difficult to face, but stressed that his wards will triumph.

Bosso: 'Nigeria will beat Italy'

“We watched the Italy vs. Brazil match. Tactically, Brazil was the better team and also the fitter team because, in the second half, Italy lost gas and conceded two late goals.
“We’re fitter than both of them. We got the three points, that’s most important.
“Now we hope to put up a better performance against Italy.''

Bameyi sends warning to Italy

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported that Daniel Bameyi, captain of the Flying Eagles of Nigeria, stated emphatically that he and his teammates are not scared of Italy ahead of their battle at the ongoing 2023 Under-20 FIFA World Cup.

Coach Ladan Bosso and his wards started their campaign at the World Cup on an impressive note, beating the Dominican Republic 2-1 in a challenging battle.

Going into this game, the Flying Eagles were urged by the Nigerian Football Federation to make Nigerians proud by going far in this year's competition.

Daniel Bameyi made it clear that the Flying Eagles are not afraid of any opponents.
