The Spanish police have finally swung to action following the continuous racist attacks on Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior.
The police arrested four persons for allegedly hanging an effigy of the 22-year-old forward off a bridge in January before Real Madrid’s clash against city rivals Atletico Madrid.
According to CNN, the police claim in a statement that three of the arrested culprits were members of a radical fan group of a football club from Madrid.
“Three of those arrested are active members of a radical fan group of a football club from Madrid.
“The investigation carried out by police through evidence gathered, witnesses and open-source digital research, among other things, led to the identification of the four men suspected of the crime.”
The arrest comes less than 24 hours after Real Madrid had filed a hate crime complaint for racist abuse when Vinicius was targeted with racist slurs during the La Liga clash with Valencia at the Mestalla.

Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that Vinicius Junior met with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to discuss his future after allegedly receiving racial abuse, Daily Express reports.
The 22-year-old Brazilian is reportedly considering his future with the club due to too many racial attacks and could seek a move away from Real Madrid and Spain entirely.
Vinicius was allegedly subjected to racist abuse from Valencia fans before and during Real Madrid’s 1-0 defeat on Sunday.

The Spanish FA fired the six VAR referees, claiming that the images given to the on-field referee, which led to Vinicius' red card, were incomplete.
