As noted by the PSL's website, the head coach of each DStv Premiership side voted for the Footballer of the Season award. They were not allowed to vote for their own players.

For the Players' Player of the Season award, voting was done by players in the Premiership. Each club was allowed a maximum of 30 votes, and no player was allowed to vote for their teammate.

For some of the other big awards, voting was done by a judging panel of football journalists, analysts, and commentators.

Sundowns win big at Awards

The best players in South African football were honoured at the Premier Soccer League’s annual Awards for 2021/2022.

The Awards are held at the end of every season and honour the best players in the MTN8, Nedbank Cup, and DStv Premiership.

Mamelodi Sundowns received the most nominations for the awards and dominated the winner’s list as well, Sports Brief reported.
