Emiliano Martinez, with a playful tone, has pledged to utilise every means at his disposal to lure Lionel Messi to Aston Villa.
Martinez, who tasted World Cup glory alongside Messi in 2022, made his comments on the back of seeing his revered international teammate come in for criticism from PSG supporters.
The World Cup-winning goalkeeper went as far as to declare that he would willingly accept a reduction in his salary if it meant being able to cover the substantial wages of his Argentine compatriot.
"If Leo [Messi] is whistled [at PSG], I'd bring him to Aston Villa. I would do make [tea] for him, make him asados every weekend, ask people to make him little flags, and he'd have a good time. I'd cut my salary for Messi if I have to," Dibu said, via ESPN.
While Martinez's offer might appear tempting, Messi is not short on offers as he enters into the final months of his current contract with PSG.
He has been heavily linked with a sensational return to Barcelona this summer, talkSPORT reports.
There has also been speculation about a potential move to the Gulf nation of Saudi Arabia, where the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner could join forces with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr or oppose him at Al-Hilal.
