  • Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen could be heading to the Premier League this summer
  • The Super Eagles star has scored 23 League goals this term for Napoli in the Serie A
  • Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal are the Premier League sides in pursuit of the Nigerian strongman

Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly planning to spend a massive €500m this summer to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen and two other Napoli stars in an effort to bolster their squad.

Osimhen has this season been the shining light at Naples as the Nigerian has displayed brilliant performances and recorded his name in the history books of the Italian Serie A.

After waiting for 33 years, Osimhen recently helped Napoli win the Serie A title and many speculations have been thrown around regarding his future at the club.

Many Nigerian football fans want Osimhen to move to the Premier League. In contrast, President George Weah and others urge the Super Eagles star to remain in Italy and win the Scudetto again.

Who are the two other players?

According to reports on Punch and Daily Mail, Kim Min-jae and Georgian winger, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are the other two Napoli players wanted by Manchester United.

When did Osimhen join Napoli?

Osimhen joined Napoli in the summer of 2020, and is the most sought-after striker ahead of the coming transfer window after a sensational season for Napoli.

The Nigerian is the leading scorer in Serie A with 23 goals from 30 games this term.

Victor Osimhen fumes at Spalletti

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Osimhen and Luciano Spalletti appeared to fume at each other during Napoli’s 2-1 victory over Champions League finalists Inter Milan.

Frank Anguissa opened the scoring in the 67th minute after an end-to-end battle between the two sides. Romelu Lukaku pulled one back for the Nerazzurri.

Captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo put the Neapolitans ahead minutes later before substitute Gianluca Gaetano rounded it up in the additional minutes.

The win irrelevantly extends Napoli’s lead at the top of the Serie A table while it dents a blow to Inter Milan’s Champions League hopes for next season.
