The infamous 'Kim Kardashian curse' has been blamed for Arsenal's painful Premier League title collapse.

The Gunners had been touted as strong favourites to lift the crown, after dominating the English top flight for the better part of the 2022/23 campaign.

Mikel Arteta's charges commanded a significant lead at the top of the standings at one point, leaving reigning champions, Manchester City trailing.

However, a string of poor performances in recent weeks, in which they picked up just nine points from a possible 24, saw them beaten to the title by City.

According to the BBC, City's Premier League triumph was confirmed as early as May 20, after Arsenal lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest.

The Citizens successfully defended the crown with three games to spare, with the side officially crowned champions on Sunday shortly after their 1-0 win over Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.

Kardashian's role in Arsenal's slump

The Sun now reports that a section of fans have blamed Kim K for Arsenal bottling the Premier League title race.

The publication reports that the north-Londoners were eight points clear at the top back in March when the American reality TV star flew to the Emirates to watch a game.

At the time, Kim K was in the company of her son, Saint, as Arsenal battled Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League - a match Arteta's men went on to lose.

Since then, Arsenal have won four, drawn three, and lost three in a woeful run of results that handed City an edge in the title race.
