Judge Dave Moretti scored eight rounds for Haney (116-112), who won seven rounds apiece on the cards of judges Tim Cheatham (115-113) and David Sutherland (115-113), per Boxing Scene.

After the fight, the Ukrainian boxer burst into tears backstage after a controversial decision as he thought about his young son's disappointment.

When the decision was put to Lomachenko, the Ukrainian remained classy in despair:

"I don't want to talk about this. All people see what happened today," he said, via Yahoo Sports.
"I can't talk about this right now, it's just not a comfortable moment for me." Lightweight contender Shakur Stevenson jumped into the ring after the fight and claimed Lomachenko had won the fight.

As a result of his impressive performance, Lomachenko received thunderous applause from the crowd.

He thanked God, his team, management, family, friends, and the crowd for their support after the fight, but he could still not control his tears in the locker room.

Fans boo Devin Hany

Meanwhile, Haney could not speak in his postfight interview due to fans booing and throwing objects such as beer cups into the ring.

The American crowd seemed to support the European boxer over the Oakland native, who, throughout the weekend, had a series of rants that likely made him public enemy number one.
