Manchester United reportedly want to bring in Atalanta’s talented striker Rasmus Hojlund to bolster their attack.
The Dane has been on Ten Hag’s radar, and the United boss ranks him highly, despite only being only 20.
United are yet to find a permanent replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, and only signed Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley in January 2023.
Weghorst has been underwhelming as a Red Devil, and was recently demoted to the bench after Anthony Martial made a full recovery from injury.
United are still keen on bolstering their attacking options, and Harry Kane remains top of the club’s priority over the summer.
With Weghorst and Martial’s futures uncertain, United are reportedly eyeing Hojlund as a prime target, according to The Times.
Who is Hojlund?
Standing tall at 6ft 3in, Hojlund left Austrian side Sturm Graz and joined Atalanta in the summer, hitting the ground running in the Serie A.
According to Transfermkt, he has bagged 8 goals and three assists in 31 appearances in his debut season in Italy, numbers which are rather impressive for a 20-year old in a foreign league.
Atalanta paid £15m for the youngster, but his market value will surely have risen, and reports claim any club that wants him may have to pay up to £40m.
Meanwhile, Harry Kane, whose deal at Tottenham runs out in 2024, is also a target for Manchester United and other European giants.
Bayern Munich are also keen on convincing Kane to come to the Bundesliga, as rumours continue to swirl that Sadio Mane could be headed for an exit.
