Barcelona's youngster, Alejandro Balde has shone like a million stars through the 2022/23 football season. The 19-year-old, who was an understudy to first-team fullback Jordi Alba, was able to convince manager Xavi Hernandez to take a punt on him.

Very early in the campaign, Balde was asked to replace Jordi Alba – who had to be left out of the team mostly because of the club's financial crisis – as the starting left-back for the Blaugrana, and the youngster has not looked back.

Fast forward to May, and the La Masia graduate has played a crucial role in Barcelona’s La Liga triumph. His goal and assist ensured the win against Espanyol that sealed the title triumph for the Catalans.

Balde’s rise has attracted the attention of several top clubs across Europe, more so given that his contract expires in the summer of 2024.

As such, Anais Marti Herrero of La Vanguardia is reporting that Balde has an offer from German champions Bayern Munich, while two unnamed Premier League clubs have also sent in proposals.

It is not new for Bayern Munich to cast admiring glances towards the young talents at Barcelona. They have previously tried to sign Pedri, and were recently credited with an interest in Ansu Fati and Gavi.

However, they are set to be met with major disappointment, as the 19-year-old Spanish international's contract renewal at Barcelona is very close. Indeed, the two parties are understood to have already reached an agreement over a new deal, which lasts until 2027 and has a €1 billion release clause.

According to Sport, the Catalan club have an agreement in place and are only waiting for a green light from La Liga for their financial viability plan. They then plan to announce and register Balde’s new contract, along with those of Gavi, Ronald Araujo, Inaki Pena, Marcos Alonso, and Sergi Roberto.

It is expected that La Liga will give its ‘okay’ to the viability plan as early as tomorrow, after which the renewals and registrations should pick up pace, as they are regarded as top priorities at Barcelona.

So, as things stand, even though Bayern and two other clubs might be interested in Balde, there is little to no chance that he will be leaving the club anytime soon.
